Mud River Fishing Spot

Comments

  • Main species of fish include spotted bass, crappie, sauger, and musky. There are stretches of wadable water throughout but some deeper pools can be found above old mill dams. Several roads cross Mud River which provide access. I have mainly fished the river from Milton downstream to its mouth at Barboursville. Large Flatfish are the best lures for musky and 1/4 oz spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and jig-n-craws fished around the plentiful logjams will catch the bass. 2 and 3 inch sassy shads are the bait for sauger.
