Long Paddle Worth The Trip

Launched at the main harbor, and paddled up the east arm of the river. It was easy at first, but they have opened up the gates some, and there was some flow at i made my way up stream. i had to get out three times to portage some small shallow sections, not to bad. The smallies were killing it, although there was nothing big, the amount of hookups still made it a blast.

  • Water Type: freshwater
  • Type of Fish: Smallmouth Bass
  • Fish Length (Avg): 10 inches
  • Fish Length (Max): 13 inches
  • Bait Type: Worm Check Prices
  • Bait Details: Wacky worming any watermellon 5" sinko
  • Location Details: No action until i ported the first riffle, and then the action was great. The water was moving faster due to the open gate, and i had enough fish in the boat to hook and pass to my three year old. A yak is the only thing i would try this trip in, and there were plenty of high centers and bumps along the way.

  • i hookem and turn over the pole. I ended up handing over a 13" and i was worried the pole was going to go over the side. Happy to still have it...
